Pertanyaan:
Apakah memelihara jenggot wajib hukumnya atau hanya boleh? Apakah mencukurnya berdosa atau hanya merusak Dien (agama)? Apakah mencukurnya hanya boleh bila disertai dgn memelihara kumis?
Jawaban: Mengenai pertanyaan-pertanyaan di atas, kami katakan, terdapat dalam hadits yg shahih dari Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam yg dikeluarkan oleh Imam al-Bukhari & Muslim di dalam shahih keduanya, dari hadits Ibnu Umar rad, ia berkata, ‘Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda:
خَالِفُوْا الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ أَحْفُوْا الشَّوَارِبَ وَأَوْفُوْا اللِّحَى
Seusungguhnya nikmat yg diberikan oleh Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala kpd kita tdk terhitung & tdk terhingga. Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala berfirman:
وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعْمَتَ اللهِ لاَ تُحْصُوهَا
Dan jika kamu menghitung nikmat Allah, tidaklah dpt kamu menghinggakannya. (Al Qur’an Surat: Ibrahim: 34)
Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala berfirman:
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللهِ
